The Presidency released a statement offering condolences to the victims’ families and the Borno State Government.
Presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale conveyed President Tinubu’s message, emphasizing the success in reducing terrorists’ capabilities and vowing that those responsible will face justice.
He assured that the government is strengthening efforts to secure citizens and eliminate threats.
The United States also condemned the attack, describing it as horrific and expressing condolences to the victims’ families.
The US reiterated its commitment to working with Nigeria to combat terrorism and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The attack, one of the deadliest in recent months, injured over 30 people, with severe injuries reported. The Director-General of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Barkindo Saidu, witnessed the first explosion during a wedding celebration. Following the attacks, a curfew was imposed in Gwoza LGA.
