Nigerian singer and former BBNaija winner, Laycon, has taken to social media to publicly address a lingering issue with DJ Neptune, accusing the popular DJ of withholding royalty payments for their collaborative track.
On Wednesday, in a post that quickly gained traction on his X handle, Laycon revealed that DJ Neptune has not yet paid him the agreed royalties for their 2020 song, ‘Nobody (Icons Remix).’
The remix, which also featured Joeboy, was a special tribute to Laycon’s fans, known as Icons, following his win on the Big Brother Naija show.
Laycon expressed his frustration over the situation, explaining that it has been four years since the track was released, yet DJ Neptune has remained silent on the matter.
He urged the DJ to honor the terms of their agreement, stressing the importance of transparency and fairness in the music industry.
He wrote, “DJ Neptune, what’s the status of our agreement and split for the ‘Nobody (Icons Remix)’ track? It’s been four years already, and I still haven’t received anything.”
As of now, DJ Neptune has not responded to these allegations. The issue has sparked discussions among fans and industry watchers, with many expressing support for Laycon’s demand for fair treatment and proper compensation.
