Bala Mohammed Says Bauchi Can Extinguish Any Flames from Wike’s Threats
Governor Bala Mohammed assures Bauchi’s resilience against political threats made by Nyesom Wike.

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State has assured that his state can handle any threats made by Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

This follows Wike’s recent warning to Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors, who support Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, to stay out of Rivers’ political matters.

Speaking during a meeting with members of the PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC) in Bauchi, Governor Mohammed dismissed Wike’s warning, stating that Bauchi cannot be set ablaze by political threats.

“We stand united; nobody can ignite a fire in Bauchi. We have enough water to quench any flames, even if it’s my friend Wike who’s upset. But it’s not personal,” Mohammed said.

He emphasized that while his friendship with Wike remains intact, his duty as a leader is clear.

He praised the NWC’s visit, noting that it reflects the hope and stability of the PDP in Nigeria.

He acknowledged that while internal crises exist, strong leadership is necessary to address these issues and uphold the party’s constitution.

Kamaludeen Ajibade, the PDP Legal Adviser, who led the NWC delegation to Bauchi, said the visit was to recognize Governor Mohammed’s leadership as the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum.

He acknowledged ongoing challenges within the party and expressed confidence that the Governors’ Forum is working to resolve them.
