Stubbs Cautions Everton Against Hiring Mourinho as Manager Amid Takeover Speculations
Former Everton player Alan Stubbs warns the club against hiring Jose Mourinho, raising doubts over his current managerial ability.

Former Everton player, Alan Stubbs, has advised the Premier League club to reconsider hiring José Mourinho as their next manager.

Speculation has been growing that Everton’s soon-to-be owners are considering bringing Mourinho to Goodison Park.

The Friedkin Group is in the process of completing a takeover of Everton, having reached an agreement to acquire Farhad Moshiri’s 94% majority stake in the club.

Dan Friedkin, the company’s owner and CEO, is reportedly keen on appointing Mourinho, who is currently managing Turkish club Fenerbahçe.

Mourinho, a manager with an illustrious past, has led major teams like Real Madrid, Chelsea, Manchester United, Inter Milan, and Porto.

However, Stubbs has expressed doubts about whether Mourinho, now 61, is still at his best.

Speaking to BestBettingSites, Stubbs said, “If Everton were bringing in the Mourinho of old—the young, charismatic manager who achieved tremendous success—I would say yes.

Most Everton fans would probably agree because Mourinho at his peak was something special. But the truth is, the current Mourinho isn’t quite the same.”

Stubbs continued, “His recent managerial stints haven’t gone as well, and while he still brings a certain flair, I don’t think hiring him would be a wise decision for Everton at this time.”
