Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has launched the emergency reconstruction of Karu Road, stretching from Karu Interchange to Customs Clinic Junction within the Abuja Municipal Area Council.

Speaking at the flag-off, Wike said the project would go beyond the main Karu Road to cover other critical feeder roads in the satellite town. He credited Abuja Municipal Area Council Chairman, Christopher Maiakalangu, and former FCT Senator Philip Aduda, for persistently advocating the project.

Wike assured residents that the reconstruction will include dualisation and installation of streetlights to improve safety and business activities. The contract, awarded to Messers Abdul Val Nigeria Ltd., is expected to be completed in 10 months. The company recently delivered a similar 16-kilometre dual carriage road in Ushafa, Bwari Area Council.

The Minister stressed that the development aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to expand infrastructure in FCT satellite towns. He urged residents to support leaders who genuinely champion their interests and to hold public officials accountable for campaign promises.

FCT Minister of State, Mariya Mahmoud, praised President Tinubu and commended Wike for his leadership.
