FEC approves N43.6bn for road projects in North-east

The Federal Govt Council (FEC) has accredited N43.6 billion for the development and reconstruction of roads in Borno, Yobe, Adamawa, Gombe and Bauchi states.

Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Catastrophe Administration and Social Growth, Sadiya Umar Farouq, revealed this when she briefed State Home correspondents on the finish of the Council assembly.

”These memos are in respect of street reconstruction for 5 states of the North-east area specifically; Borno, Yobe, Adamawa and Gombe and Bauchi.

She mentioned N12.1 billion of the quantity could be spent on the reconstruction of the 54 kilometres Mutayi-Ngalda Street in Yobe, whereas N11.6 billion was meant for 53 kilometres Gombe-Abba-Dukurfi street in Gombe and Bauchi State.

The minister disclosed that N6.2 billion of the quantity was accredited for the reconstruction of the 32 kilometres Zabuna-Garkida Street in Adamawa.

She said that the ministry, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, could be co-funding some roads within the North-east zone of the nation.
