
Petroleum marketers announced that the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has tapped into its reserves nationwide to alleviate the persistent fuel scarcity.
Hammed Fashola, President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, and Billy Hilly-Harry of the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria, confirmed this after a meeting with NNPCL on Saturday.
Fashola mentioned plans for a joint effort with NNPCL to address the scarcity, urging citizens to avoid panic buying as fuel availability is assured. He emphasized ongoing collaboration with NNPCL and upcoming discussions with other marketers to ensure a coordinated response. Hilly-Harry noted improvements in Abuja, signaling a positive shift in the fuel supply situation. There has been price hike in other states; some filling stations selling as high as N800, N790 a litre in ASABA, Delta.
