Dubai: The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has reminded companies that June 30 is the final deadline to meet Emiratisation targets for the first half of 2024. These targets aim for a 1 percent increase in the number of Emiratis in skilled jobs at companies with 50 or more employees, following the decisions of the Council of Ministers.
This reminder came as the MoHRE confirmed June 30 as the final deadline for meeting these targets.
This year, the fine is Dh8,000 per month for each Emirati not hired. Private companies are required to increase their number of Emirati employees by 2 percent each year. By the end of last year, companies were required to have 4 percent Emiratis as employees. By the end of June, this must increase to 5 percent. Before the end of 2024, 6 percent of a company’s workforce must be UAE nationals.
