Niger State supports Borno flood victims with ₦250m donation.

In a gesture of solidarity, Niger State Governor Umaru Bago led a delegation to Maiduguri to extend support and compassion to the people of Borno State following the devastating flood that displaced over two million residents.

The natural disaster, which has caused loss of lives, property, and livelihoods, prompted the Niger State government to donate ₦250 million to aid recovery efforts. Individuals and corporate bodies have also sent their donations to reduce the burden of the terrible situation of the state at the moment.

Governor Bago, expressing his deep concern over the disaster, described the flood as both devastating and worrisome.

He emphasized the need for Nigerians from all walks of life to come together and assist the affected communities. “This is a time for solidarity and compassion. Our brothers and sisters in Borno need us, and it is our collective responsibility to help them rebuild,” he stated.

During the visit, Bago encouraged his counterpart, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State, to remain strong and continue his efforts to restore stability and normalcy.

He urged the people of Borno to keep their faith in Allah, believing that everything happens for a divine purpose. “Allah makes no mistakes. We must stay united, support our leaders, and trust that better days are ahead,” Bago said.

The delegation offered special prayers for the souls of those who lost their lives in the floods, for the recovery of the injured, and for the restoration of lost properties and livelihoods.

Prayers were also offered for divine intervention to prevent future occurrences of such disasters.

In addition to the donation, the Niger State delegation paid a visit to the palace of the Shehu of Borno to convey their condolences.

They sought the royal father’s blessings and support as the state continues its recovery process.

Governor Bago reiterated that Niger State stands in full support of Borno during this challenging time and urged the residents to remain hopeful and resilient.

However, the donations to the Borno flood relief efforts surpass N12 billion as announced by the Borno State government. Donations both in cash and materials.
