Nyesom Wike to answer for alleged anti-party actions
Nyesom Wike: Minister of FCT

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially summoned Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, to appear before its disciplinary committee.

This action follows accusations that Wike engaged in activities against the party’s interests. Ibrahim Abdullahi, the PDP’s Deputy National Publicity Secretary, revealed this during an interview on Channels Television’s “Sunrise Daily.”

He explained that the party has sent a letter to Wike, requesting his presence before the disciplinary committee, which was set up by the PDP’s National Working Committee.

“Three weeks ago, we formed two key committees—one for reconciliation and another for disciplinary matters. Nyesom Wike is among those who will face the disciplinary committee, chaired by elder statesman Chief Tom Ikimi,” Abdullahi said.

The committee is mandated to investigate claims of anti-party behavior and sabotage during the party’s primary elections and beyond.

Numerous petitions have been submitted against Wike and other members, accusing them of actions that undermined the party’s unity.

Some party members have expressed that Wike should have already been expelled from the PDP. They have written to the party’s leadership, pushing for stronger action against him.

This internal party tension increased further over the weekend when Wike, the former governor of Rivers State, threatened to create a political crisis in the states of PDP governors supporting Fubara, the governor of Rivers State. He made the following statement during the PDP state congress at the party’s secretariat in Port Harcourt:

Let me assure all of you, not while we live will anybody take away the structure of PDP from us. But let me tell people, I hear some governors who say they will take over the structure and give back to somebody, I pity those governors because I will put fire in their states.

“When God has given you peace, you say you don’t want peace – anything you see you take,” Wike had said.
