Super Eagles striker Sadiq Umar has completed a six-month loan move from Real Sociedad to Valencia, with an option for the Spanish side to sign him permanently at the end of the season, reports Soccernet.ng.
The Nigerian international has struggled to regain his form since joining Real Sociedad from Almeria for €20 million in September 2022. Sadiq’s promising start was derailed by an anterior cruciate ligament injury in only his third game, sidelining him for an entire season.

Despite making his comeback last season, the 26-year-old has found it difficult to secure a regular starting spot, appearing just 11 times this campaign, mostly as a substitute. With playing opportunities limited, rumours of a move surfaced, and Valencia emerged as the frontrunner alongside Getafe.
Valencia, who sit second-to-last in La Liga with only 12 points from 19 games, officially unveiled Sadiq on Saturday. His arrival makes him only the second Nigerian player to represent the club, following Sunny’s signing in 2007.
The loan deal offers Sadiq a chance to revive his career while providing Valencia with much-needed firepower in their fight against relegation.
Fans will be watching closely to see if the Super Eagles star can deliver in his new colours.
